'Calabrian Journal' is both a photo album and journal. It can be read and viewed. Or you may just view the photos by clicking through the 'next' buttons at the top of each picture.

'Calabrian Journal' is a companion piece to 'The Key to My Grandfather's House,' a photo/essay/poem by my elder brother, David Imbrogno. We undertook a journey together to southern Italy in late October 2003, captured in these two efforts. David's work deftly and movingly reflects on some of the universal themes of the immigrant story, filtered through the tale of our own Imbrogno/Napoli family roots in Calabria. It's a powerful piece for anyone who feels strongly about their family ties of any sort. Mine is more an idiosyncratic photo album and travelogue with edited, personal journal entries, alternating with impressionistic photo placements. You might do well to begin with David's work. Or it may work better the other way around.
